5G Patrol Robot in Shanghai — Amizur Nachshoni

As part of its effort to contain the spread of COVID-19, China is using 5G patrol robots developed by Guangzhou Gosuncn Robot Co. using Advantech technology to monitor mask-wearing and body temperatures in public places.

Shanghai’s first police patrol robot is maneuvering through Nanjing Road pedestrian street. The robot has a face recognition function. It can broadcast content and can transfer on-site images in real-time. A policeman with the East Nanjing Road police station said that it can patrol for as long as 24 hours a day. Once 5G technology is integrated into the hardware, people will be able to talk to policemen directly through the robot.
